U.S Department of Transportation, NASA and Others Announce Future Vision for Air Transportation
|

A plan to help the Nation meet the demands of a future aviation system that someday could include air taxis, micro-jets and commercial space vehicles, was unveiled today by U.S. Transportation Secretary Norman Y. Mineta and officials from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and others, who called it “a blueprint that will lead to the transformation of America’s air transportation network.”

Two FedEx Express employees in Danbury, CT who risked their personal safety to save a pilot from a burning aircraft were honored today as U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Y. Mineta presented them the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) highest award.
