U.S. Coast Guard USCG, Polaris Industries Announce Recall Watercraft PRODUCT: Personal Watercraft - Polaris Industries Inc., of Medina, Minn., is voluntarily recalling about 7700 watercraft. Polaris model year 1998 SLH and SLXH model watercraft, 1999 SLH and SLX watercraft, 2000 SLH, SLX, and Pro 1200 watercraft, and 2001 SLH, SLX, and Pro 1200 watercraft are part of this recall. PROBLEM: The problem may exist in the hinge that attaches the front-compartment hood to the top deck of the hull. If the hinge fails, the hood could dislodge and strike the operator and/or passenger, and could cause personal injury and/or death. WHAT TO DO: Do not operate your watercraft until the repair is performed! Polaris will be notifying Polaris dealers and purchasers of these products when details of the repair kit become available. When the kit is available, consumers should contact their Polaris dealer to schedule an appointment if they have not already been contacted by their Polaris dealer. The dealer will install a repair kit at no charge.
